In the workshop at via Bertani 16 in Milan, Giuseppe De Vecchi (who had trained with Prinetti e Stucchi) and Ettore Strada built motorcycles probably from 1903 to 1909, and during that period they built automobiles. Strada left the company after it encountered financial difficulty and formed a new organisation with a very similar name, continuing automobile component production throughout the duration of WWI and on until 1920. The firm also manufactured aircraft engines from 1917.
