Eclipse Machine Co

Rothwell were motorcycles produced in 1903 by the Eclipse Machine Co of Oldham in Lancashire.

The company had been established in 1872, and in 1903 they produced a typical primitive with a small engine hung inclined from a bicycle frame downtube. It had belt drive and unbraced cycle forks. The machine was no more than a bicycle with an engine and was therefore very short lived. Sources: Grace's Guide
