Metro were motorcycles produced from 1914 to 1916, in Adderley Road, Saltley, Birmingham by the Metro Manufacturing and Engineering co..
  • 1914 In the early days this machine was also listed as the Imperial Metro. Only one model was offered, fitted with a 269cc two-stroke engine with chain-driven Ruthardt magneto. Options were available in the form of one or two speeds, belt or chain-cum-belt transmission, and either Druid or Brampton Biflex forks.
  • 1915 The model continued in the same forms for that year.
  • 1916 Only a single-speed model was available.
  • Note: In 1919 and after the end of World War I, the Metro name was bought by Tyler Apparatus Co of London who went on to successfully market the Metro-Tyler.
