Progress Motorcycles, Germany

Progress Motoren & Apparatebau GmbH, Wilmersdorfer Strasse 39, Berlin-Charlottenburg

Paul Schauer built the Progress motorcycle from around 1900 to 1903 or later. These were powered by engines from Fafnir and Zédel.

Between 1904 and 1906 they produced a transport tricycle (Motor-Transport-Dreirad) based on the motorcycle which had two wheels at the front supporting a luggage box.

During the same period Schauer was responsible for the Cyklon marque.

Progress ceased trading in 1914.

Hi there,
I found your website looking for info on the reference motorcycle.
I attach a pic of my great grandfather riding it, in 1905.
Apparently he went to the factory and was given an ID card for entry, (I have it) where he bought the bike.
He later drove to Eisenach to participate in the 2nd Motorbikers Day (II Deutsche Motorradfahrertag ) that was held by the D.M.V. on June 1st, 1905.
He was a neighbour to Charlottenburg.
Do you have any further data or photos of this model?
Many thanks in advance,
Eduard Raff Becker

Have no further info at present. Will continue research and post results as they come to light.
