Supercross racing is born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, when 80,000 fans filled Strahov Stadium to watch the "Great Victory Day Race" In addition to motocross in the infield, the fans were treated to speedway races around the perimeter oval.

Jean-François Baldé wins the 350cc French Grand Prix. It was the last time the 350 class was included in the French calendar, and it was omitted from Grand Prix racing in 1986.
