Flat Four Cylinder Motor Cycle

This superb 500 c.c. Motor Cycle with its four- cylinder engine and shaft drive sets a new standard in motor cycling, of speed, comfort, flexibility and control. On inspection this new "WOOLER" will show that it is not only unique in design, but that it is completely designed down to the last nut, bolt and spring. To own THE WOOLER is to own the BEST in motor cycling as proven by the following features:

ACCESSIBILITY: The complete machine can be dismantled with two spanners, only three mu sizes anti the plug being used throughout. The complete power unit can he removed, from the frame in 10 minutes, whilst the rear wheel can be easily removed in 2 or 3 minutes.

RELIABILITY Careful consideration of every detail has resulted in a machine which gives thousands of miles of trouble-free running.

PERFORMANCE Superb acceleration and top speeds of 90 m.p.h., are obtainable on standard machines.

COMFORT The smooth torque of the four-cylinder engine, together with front and rear suspension, combine to produce a machine free from vibration, which can be ridden for several hundred miles without fatigue.

LIGHT WEIGHT A total weight of 355 lbs. together with the low centre of gravity gives excellent road-holding and provides a machine that can be easily handled by any rider.

WOOLER SPECIFICATION

ENGINE: 500 c.c. (50 x 63.5 mm.) FLAT FOUR cylinder. Light alloy cylinders with liners; cylinder heads, crankcase and sump in light alloy. Bearings: Vandervell thin wall for big ends; and three main bearings on crankshaft. Camshaft and timing gear drive by Renold 8 mm. Duplex chain.

CARBURETTOR: TWIN SOLEX.

GEARBOX : Four-speed constant mesh gearbox specially designed to run in engine oil. Designed so as to form an integral part of the power unit and incorporating a double-plate FERODO clutch of car type. Special design of easy light operating gear change. Ratios: Bottom 11.5: 1; 2nd 73: 1; 3rd 6.16 : 1; Top 5.0 : 1

TRANSMISSION: SHAFT DRIVE to rear wheel incorporating a LAYRUB shock-absorbing joint and HARDY SPICER UNIVERSAL coupling with spiral bevel pinion and crown wheel.

IGNITION: LUCAS A C. generator and distributor,

LUBRICATION : Gear-driven oil pump, maintaining a high pressure oil supply to all working parts. A reservoir of half-gallon capacity incorporated in a deep sump. Gearbox and Shaft Drive also lubricated with engine oil. Twin filters will ensure continuous purification of oil.

FRAME: WOOLER PATENT DUPLEX Frame with rear springing taking all road shocks and reactions, SPECIAL fabricated DUPLEX HEAD-LUG.

FORKS: WOOLER PATENT design Duplex steering stem and similar springing system to that used for the frame.

SUSPENSION: ORIGINAL WOOLER PATENT springing, front and rear, with compound springs set to automatically adjust for varying loads and speeds.

STANDS: Centrally positioned, easily operated, independent stands.

WHEELS: 19 in. by 3.25 in. detachable wheels of special design incorporating INTERCHANGEABILITY- Patent design Dural HUB fitted with straight spokes, Dural rims supplied at an extra charge.

BRAKES; Patent design of hubs of 7 in. internal diameter fitted with steel liner and FERODO brake linings.

TYRES: 19 in. x 3.25 in. by DUNLOP.

MUDGUARDS: Special design, eliminating all exposed nuts and bolls thus ensuring freedom from rusting, with the rear end of the guard being so shaped as to carry the registration number and rear lamp.

HANDLEBARS: WOOLER PATENT cluster controls with single boll fitting, embodying positive action twist-grip for throttle and ignition control as well as horn push and cut-out switch.

PETROL TANK : Specially designed streamline tank embodying lighting and speedometer. Fuel capacity 3½ gallons,

SADDLE: Specially manufactured by WRIGHTS. Dual seals by FERIDAX

LIGHTING : Special LUCAS lamp built into tank nose. Latest LUCAS rear lamp built into rear mudguard.

FINISH: In black and chrome. All enamelled parts pre-treated to ensure rust freedom with only realty high quality materials used throughout,

WEIGHT: Complete machine weighs 355 lbs, when fully equipped.
