From Les Elmer, Auckland, New Zealand, comes this photo of his 1929 BSA Upright (very similar to my Sloper but with upright engine). It was taken in Brisbane, Australia, in 1932, and shows the second and third owners aboard the bike before setting off on a 3000 odd mile trip from Brisbane to Sydney, to be among the first to cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge when it opened in April 1932. Les is only the fourth owner of this bike from new.
