I recently just got a 1970 thunderbolt. I am new to motorcycles and could use some advice. the first issue is the kickstart

The kickstart has no resistance in neutral but in first or second it has resistance. When I try to kickstart in neutral it just goes down without any tension.

The issue with the clutch is I noticed I have to start to roll it just slightly forward while engaging the clutch in order to get it into first gear as opposed to just being able to engage the clutch and putting it into first.

    any advice is appreciated.

Do you mean you feel no compression when you attempt to kickstart in neutral? Can you start the bike in first or second?
