Corrado Frera born in Alsace Lorraine.
Of French and German descent, in 1903 he established a workshop in Varese which became one of the great Italian motorcycle producers of the day. The Museo Frera celebrates his works.

Masashi Ito, founder of Marusho Motorcycles dies aged 92.
He and Soichiro Honda worked together as apprentices in the 1920s. His best-known motorcycle was the Lilac, a transverse V-twin of the 1950s and 60s.
