Tommy Wood wins the 1951 Spanish Grand Prix 350cc class for the second year in a row riding a 1949 Velocette KTT MK8. Later in the year he rode a Moto Guzzi to victory in the 1951 Isle of Man Lightweight TT.
At the Hangtown Motocross Classic in California, Bill Grossi wins the 450cc class on a Honda and Marty Smith took the 250cc race, also riding Honda.
