Claude Givaudan born Lyon, France. Givaudan exhibited a range of single- and twin-cylinder motorcycles at the 1903 Paris Salon. In 1910 he won the Eiffel prize of the Aero Club of France and the first prize of the Aero Club of Belgium.

Herbert 'Bert' le Vack died. He took numerous world speed records in France and England, and rode for many manufacturers including Indian, New Imperial, Zenith and Brough Superior, where he worked on T.E. Lawrence's machines.
