Evel Knievel batters Sheldon Saltman with a baseball bat.
Saltman, who promoted the Snake River Canyon event, wrote that Kneivel was "an alcoholic, a pill addict, an anti-Semite and an immoral person." Knievel was sentenced to six months in jail and fined $12.75 million. The money was never paid.
Knievel's 290-page FBI file reveals that agents believed he was involved in a string of beatings in Phoenix, Kansas City and San Francisco.
