I have recently bought an E 1987 Cagiva Freccia, and would be very grateful if someone could send me a picture and some information on the 1987 model as there is not any decals on it, it is sprayed red and has been dynod at 37bhp and will do 125mph, I do not know what modifications have been done but I know that it is very quick for a 125cc motorbike. — thanks dean — hayley at field6026.freeserve.co.uk

I have a Cagiva Freccia 125 (very similar to Mito) 1989. For several months it has lacked power – it will not pull under the slightest load. We have been told by a couple of bike dealers that it is probably an electrical fault. But they haven’t traced it and we are stuck. Can anyone help or advise us. Please contact David (Sheffield) on www_klee at blueyonder.co.uk (please note after the “www” on my e-mail address there’s an underline!)

I’ve just bought a 1987 Cagiva Freccia as my first bike, and although it runs fine most of the time, it has cut out 3 times for no apparent reason – it just loses power and then won’t re-start for a few minutes. The only likely explanation seems to be carb icing – there’s nothing obviously wrong with the bike otherwise. Someone told me 2 strokes don’t get carb icing, but that makes no sense to me. Can anyone tell me whether these bikes are prone to carb icing, and if so what I can do about it? I want to ride the bike to work every day, all year round, and don’t want to be losing power on major roads and pushing it home! — Many thanks — Hilary — hilary.jones at lunet.ac.uk

carb icing is maybe a factor but i doubt it.ive worked on all kinda bikes for 20 years and have rebuilt a freecia last year.freccias are fickle fings so i would suggest that u make sure the fundementals are correct first.i,e float hieght, condition of carb and jets.check coorect grade of plug and ht lead & cap.cagiva do reccomend in cold weather to add a little two stroke oil in the fuel tank so this may suggest a link to carb icing.if the above checks out ok and u still have problems then it could be time to check electrical side of things.also and i know im going on like an old fart but is your piston bore ok.? realy advise you change piston evry 6k miles.

    hope it helps.aidy
