I have what I am pretty sure is a late 70’s Italjet Bambino mini bike that I am looking to sell. It has a red frame with yellow plastic tank and rear fender (front fender is gone). It came out of a barn where it had sat for about a decade. It’s not pretty, but it’s complete. Fork tubes & shocks are rusty. Both brakes work. Rims are rusty and needs tires. Nothing is bent or broken, but definitely needs some cosmetic TLC.

I did a carb & points clean and a new plug, sprayed a little oil in the cylinder to make sure it had some lube, and it fired right up. Compression is 70 psi, so it is probably due for rings. I’ll post a pic later today.

I am trying to figure out a fair value on it. Any ideas?

Also if anyone is interested in buying it, PM me.

    Any input appreciated.

If you can post a photo or two that would be great.

This page has information on valuations:

Lowish compression may well be caused by rusty valve seats rather than bad rings.

Valve seats? I am under the strong impression that this is a 2-stroke, but please tell me if I’m wrong and I’ll quit running premix in it! :D

You hear that phut phut phut sound? It’s my brain idling away in neutral.

Actually, as I was writing (at 3am) I was thinking of another project of my own which has low compression and I *know* it’s rusty valve seats.

Yeah, that sounds like a good excuse, I’ll go with that.

Haha, no problem and thanks for the help. I put it up for sale complete for $200, and just sold it over lunch for $180. Got several calls on it and probably could have gotten full price if I were more patient. Hope this helps if anyone else has one.
