DEFA Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

1921-1924 Deutsche Fahrradbau GmbH, Berlin

The company was largely concened with building motorcycle chassis components and frames for other manufacturers, but between 1921 and 1924 also produced its own model in the 200 program with an engine supplied by Cambra in Berlin. As the DEFA motorcycles were manufactured on customer request they could also be supplied with engines from Alba, Bekamo, Charlett or Cockerell.

Avola and DAW, both of Leipzig, used Defa frames.
