Made in Zedelgem, Belgium from 1957 to c1975
Following a severe disagreement between the brothers Aimé and Rémi Claeys the Flandria concern was divided. Rémi ended up with the moped production department, but not the engine works, which stayed with his brother. As a result the first machines of the newly created Superia marque were powered by Sachs, and later also by Victoria. A Solex-style machine of 1959 was powered by a 32cc Pluvier, and the Pousse Pousse was a 3-wheeled taxi built in 1958. One of their models was a Superia 250cc JLO twin of 1957
In the 60s they built an attractive range of mopeds and scooters powered by Sachs and Victoria. During the 70s Minarelli engines were adopted, and major components including frames and wheels were sourced from Romeo and Testi. Moped construction came to an end and the firm was sold in 1978.
There was also a Superia manufactured in Germany in the 1920s, and an Italian Superia scooter by Frisoni.

I have made a website about Superia mopeds in Belgium. From 1956 till
... (possibly 1975)
I have loads of pictures. Like the one included: The famous bike driver
Rik van Looy, posing on a Superia Full Speed.
