The firm of J. F. Bentley was based in New Bridge Street, London. It was not connected with the Bentley make of motorcar.
Late in 1904, a forecar, constructed as a tradesman's sample, was displayed at the Stanley show. It was powered by a 3½hp Fafnir engine but proved to be far too flimsy for the cobblestones and rough terrain of that era.
