La Strada by Federico Fellini is released in Italy.
The film starred Anthony Quinn riding a Moto Guzzi Ercole. Fellini's La Dolce Vita has a Vespa 125 in a chase scene, and Roma mentions a Laverda 750S. La Citta' della Donne features Marcello Mastroianni pillioning with a woman riding a SuperAlce.

The world is poorer. Phil Aynsley, the world's most famous motorcycle photographer, left us.
Phil rode his 450RT to the first meeting of the Ducati Owners Club of NSW in December 1976.
His photographic skills soon became recognised internationally, and he travelled the world documenting race meetings, motorcycle museums, factories and personalities.
His extensive knowledge of the subject is attested by the many articles he published in the motorcycling press, illustrated with his superbly crafted photographs.
