Brief History of the Marque: Italjet

Italemmezeta was the predecessor of Italjet, a firm established in 1958 by Leopoldo Tartarini, son of Egisto Tartarini, an Italian racer. Early machines employed MZ engines.

Apparently, the firm's name changed to Italjet in 1966.

Italjet built a small number of machines for Floyd Clymer in the late 1960's utilizing Royal Enfield 750cc engines to be marketed under the Indian banner. Around 15 of these quite handsome motorcycles are believed to exist. Clymer died before the project came to fruition and the remaining 200 Enfield engines were sold to Rickman, resulting in the Rickman Interceptors.

Clymer also had Italjet build some 97 Velocette powered machines, of which about half had Venom Thruxton engines.

Italjet also built minibikes using Minarelli and  Franco Morini Motori engines.

The Bologna-based designer and manufacturer of two-wheelers, Italjet, sold the complete manufacturing and distribution rights for seven of its scooter models to the Kinetic group of India in January 2007.

Hi, I just found this 1980 Italjet that has a 350cc Bultaco 2 stroke and only 7km on it, It is Brand New, a Barn Find!!!  Can anyone tell me about it or let me know if you may want to buy, runs and drives perfect!!!!  I think it is a Roadmaster 350T but cannot find ANY information ANYWHERE, I think my picture may be the first ever on the web!!!!!  I found a later model but no 1980, please tell me about it and how many were produced and anything else.  Thank You!!!

 Questa invece è una Grifon della Italjet "fabbrica di moto di Leopoldo Tartarini" in Bologna.

Prima i 500 "Daytona", molto pochi, quindi i 650 Boneville.
Il telaio previsto per il 750 constellation era molto largo, così ho dovuto stringerlo nella parte sotto, ho anche aggiunto dei tubi nella parte sopra per farlo come il "featherbed". poi come il solito: serbatoio benzina e olio in alluminio, sella , pedane, radiatore olio, strumenti ,tubo siamese e silenziatore BSA , freno post di G 50
mentre quello davanti è di Guzzi con modifiche racing.
Non mi piacciono le moto originali, preferisco modificare tutto alle mie esigenze, le impiego settimanalmente.

I am in need of some help . i can't find a wiring diagram for my Italjet 100T with a minarelli motor ,it has a new IDM stator and coil . Electronic external H V . 85 watt . And it does have an original Dansi coil . but the wires have different colors . from the coil i have black , red and green , and from the stator ( exciter ) i have black , green and yellow . I have tried every combination . it still gets no spark .

I had one of those! I just loved it, such a great advance on my previous trials machine, a TY250A. I remember tackling sections which would have been plain impossible on the TY - sheer rock cliffs of maybe 15 or 20ft approachable with the great power and superior suspension of the Italjet. A real Green Meanie! Ed.
