Sheldon's Lame Translation. I'm not all that good with Portuguese so I even had to run this one through Babel Fish and still there were a few words I was not sure of but this is the best I can do:
Hello, good afternoon! I really like your site and would like to use it to my advantage by requesting parts or information on Zundapp 50cc mopeds. I may have to make a gas tank and need to know how they look? (not sure about that part) I will appreciate any help and once again I enjoy this interesting site.

I once owned a brand new 1960 Zundapp Citation. A tornado killed it and almost me in 1963. I have the factory original "SPARE PARTS CATALOGUE". Roughly 5X7 in size; 65 PAGES WITH COVERS. No rips, mint condition except for dirty/aged cover. Light blue with dark blue cover ink. It has a schematic of each sub-section showing every part and part number. Also how many spec parts needed. Prefer to buy another Zundapp 500 but I was told only 225 imported due to importer lawsuit. Glad to help other owners with part numbers.

Sheldon, sorry I didn't scroll down the guestbook page to find out why you guys are taking no new members. I teach technical writing and publishing at the college level and have a strong graphics and design background. I have some sharp web design students who I can probably talk into working on the site as is needed. I can't say that I could devote much money to the project, as I am going through a divorce (thus my ISDT may become my primary transportation!). But I can offer effort and skills where needed. I will have a good deal of time this summer, as I do not teach then. Let me know how I can help.

Nice club and site, zoci. I'm finally getting some time to work on my 1968 ISDT replica 100 cc. I look forward to the information I will find here. I realized earlier this week that I have no brakes when I rounded a sharp corner on a dirt road only to find that my neigbor had just eased out of his driveway in his mint condition 54 Coupe DeVille convertible. I'm glad I was able to avoid using his red laquer trunk as a ramp. I really would like to join ZOCI. Why no new members? Thanks again.

I would like to join your club would you please tell me how to do so.

From Sheldon:
Robert,
For now we are not taking new memberships while we try to find a direction for the club. My health has been failing and I'm being forced to retire. For some time I've been beating the bushes for member input but really we don't have enough members yet to really have a good information exchange. It has been pretty much James Marshall and myself who have been adding technical information. I'd been hoping that by now we would be able to put out a paper newsletter in addition to having the Web site but that hasn't been possible. The few dollars that we've taken in in memberships hasn't come close to covering the costs of the site and now that I'm having to live on a fixed income it is getting more difficult for me to take care of things. I've been shopping around for someone with skills that would take the club forward but so far there has been nobody with Web design skills and all that in necessary to running a club. For now I think we will concentrate on adding information to James Marshall's Zundapp Fool site: http://www.zundappfool.com And we shall see where this all leads.

After looking for an old bike to fix up this winter, I found a 1960 Zundapp (Horex) Citation. I am the fourth owner, the last two wanted nothing with restoring it. For $350.00 I got an all original and 99% complete bike. I am looking for the cover on top of the ignition switch, and the locks for the side panels. The ignition switch was missing, but I have one now. As soon as I figure out the wiring and fix an oil leak. I am putting it on the road for spring. Citation owners please write. Thanks Paul

At ages 15-19, I owned a blue 1959 Zundapp Citation. Twin cylinder/twin carb, 452 cc, 17 hp.

I got blown off a road in a tornado and the Zundapp was totalled in 1963.

I have photos and an original parts book and owner's manual.

I was hoping to find another Citation.

Gentlemen: between hitches in the army I learned motorcycle machanics under the GI bill, in 1951-1952 the shop was an Indian motorcycle dealer but sold Zundapp bikes also, my point is this, each engine part had the machinist's number engraved on it and if it went kaput the machinist had to replace it at his own cost, but being Zundappers presumeably you know this already. sincerely Ric

Hello, I recently purchased a Zundapp from a junk yard. I found the bike about 1 year ago should have picked it up then before the motor seized up! I paid $225.00 for it. I cant seem to find out what year or model it is . I did a real dumb thing and called some motor cycle shop out of the yellow pages , put it this way I'm lucky to have got the bike back! he had the bike for about 1 month! and for $960.00 dollars all he did was un seize the motor!! He said he would fully restore the bike. Any way's , if anyone can help me i need a gas tank, coil wire, front and back lights, a seat, paint, all new electrical replaced, tires and I need to Know what year it is . The # on the frame is 960487.I found a tag on the front of the frame it reads-Zundapp Werke G.M. b.H. Munchen Fahrzeugtyp 502-028,Baujahr 196, motor Fahrgest 960 487,GEWICHTKG 150.Please e-mail me or call me at 720-929-1375 thank you Katie.

When I was 14 y/o (40 years ago) I lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and owned a 250 cc Zundapp Super Sabre. Like most 2 strokes, it was very quick off the line. The Hella key switch was located on top of the headlamp assy . . . & if you misplaced the key, I could start it with one of my Mom's bobby-pins! The bet [and sweetest smelling] 2-stroke oil is Castrol. Party On! Ruuuuuing-a-ding, ding, ding.

Hello Mark, A fella up in Colorado, Cliff Barnhart, just restored a K500 - a '34 or a '35 - and he used to come and go around here but haven't seen him in a while. Lost his latest e-mail address also. He lives in Denver or just outside Denver in Boulder. I know it is kind of vague but it is somewhere to start a search. He got a lot of his parts and help from a German by the name of Michael Aichner ( e-mail : Michael.Aichner at t-online.de ). Aichner is sometimes slow to answer so try to be patient. My father in law has unearthed his 1957 201S, after storing it since 1971! It is in excellent condition and includes the original owners manual, engine repair manual, parts list etc. He would like to sell the bike, but we have no idea of it's value, can anyone help? I have photos available. Thank you, Dave Young

Sheldon's Lame Translation: Unfortunately I do not speak English. I am however nevertheless in need of assistance. I am searching for a complete engine in good condition for my 1957 Zundapp 250S. If necessary a complete engine with good crankshaft would be sufficient. Thank you in advance for your assistance, George Hans.

Enjoyed the web site. I'm looking for a electrical wiring diagram for a KS 601 that I purchased in 1965. I rode it quite a few years and am now restoring it. I have a owners manual and parts manual which I've owned for years but neither has a correct wiring diagram. I would pay for a good copy if anyone has one

When I bought my Citation, sometime in the late '50's, the owner of the dealership said only 7 were brought into the USA at the time but that more would follow... it was on a blue, rotation pedestal, and I didn't have the money, but was in the service, so I guess my credit was fine... I never saw another one! I had minimum of sliver pin-striping (sliver? silver) yet won a bunch of awards at small shows. Boy, those were the days. Good to hear that others here had one, too!

I have access to a Zundapp 201S, In stripped down but correctly preserved condition. It belongs to my Father in law and he is interested in selling the bike. He is the original owner, having bought it new in 1958. When he served overseas, he stripped the bike and preserved it for his return. Could anyone give me any indicators as to price range please? Hello Gentlemen. Due to family circumstances I am forced to let go some of mine precious possessions. It's a 1955 BSA M20 BM33 motorbike with WW2 BMW sidecar attached to it. They both cosmetically restored at great expense. The bike most likely was ex military bike MOD since it was originally olive green and the sidecar has machine gun mount on it. I am not sure why British used German sidecar on it but we all remember Europe was poor after the war so whatever could be scavenged, was. Bike and sidecar never was damaged or rotted and was repainted once. I will supply pictures on demand. Don't let this historical artifact slip by and if you will pay 6500$ for it I will still be loosing great deal of money. You can contact me at any time at (310) 714 3349. The bike is in USA California. I will assist with shipping around the globe for under 400$. Cheers Georg.

Great that the site now has a dedicated domain name. I had an entry in the previous guestbook. Anyway for the first timers, I must say that I have a KS175 also known as the Enfield Fury here in India. A wonderful bike it is, done more than 1,40,000 km still in great shape typical of German engineering. To all the enthusiasts, Long live ZUNDAPP!!

Im not an expert in zundapp motorcycles but my brother gave me one in pieces. I have worked to rebuild the motorcycle with a bike shop but really would like to know more about this particular one. It's black with a 346cc (according to the mechanic), two stroke engine, no suspension on the back side but a spring on the sit. Believe was made on the 60's. Im going to need some spares also. It's a nice motorcycle.

Thinking about jumping into the Zundapp world. I have my eye on mid 50's Comfort 200 that hasn't run in forever (and it has really ugly Fonzie style handlebars)-- Anyone know what the difference is between the elastic and the comfort?
