Stilma Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured: 1948-49 (or possibly 1946 only)

The Societè Torinese Industrie Lavorazioni Meccaniche (STILMA) built a 500cc single with pressed metal and tubular frame with a rather beautifully sculpted rear guard. The front fork is a telescopic type and it had a 21" front wheel and 19" rear. The OHV engine was fitted with a Dell'Orto carburettor and is believed to have been of their own design and manufacture. It has a solo saddle and a flapper seat atop the rear guard.

An example was sold in the UK in 2011, and descriptions of the item suggest it was the only one made and dated it as 1946. The engine number of that machine was #003.
