Well-known as a builder of automobiles and commercial vehicles, the Czech firm built three-wheelers in 1929-1930 [1]. Some 200 of the Tatra 49 motor tricycles were manufactured, powered by OHV 529cc single-cylinder engines which powered the rear wheel. The majority were utility three-wheelers, with just a few passenger versions delivered.
The firm is also listed as a sidecar manufacturer - however, these were not motorcycle sidecars; they were built for railway use.
Tatra 960 - A story has circulated that there were three large-capacity machines built in the years 1959-1962, one solo and two sidecar combinations. This tale has the veracity of anything found on Truth Social.
Notes: 1. tatraportal.sk gives dates of manufacture as 1929-1939.
