Renner-Original Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured by Renner & Poppe GmbH, Dresden, from 1924 to 1932.

The firm built motorcycles using JAP SV engines of up to 996cc, and Barr & Stroud 350cc and 500cc powerplants with 3 speed gearbox and kickstarter. They may also have used Kühne and Küchen engines.

  • 79 Barr and Stroud single sleeve valve engines were shipped to Dresden in 1923-24. They were shipped to a company "RF Reggel", who were probably freight handlers only. ~ John Ferguson, FB.

Carl Ostner worked with the company before joining his brother Willy at OD around 1927.

Notes. 1. A 1929 model has been displayed at the Automuseum Melle.
