HMK Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufacturer: Karl Meixner 1937-1949, Vienna

Karl Meixner's company built HMK motorcycles which, between 1937 and 1938, were fitted with 250cc up to 600cc JAP engines, mostly OHV. Their business was effectively destroyed following Hitler's invasion and the banning of British components. When the country returned to normality following the defeat of the Nazis new models were announced of which but a few prototypes were built, powered by 250cc and 500cc Bark single cylinder engines with a four-speed Getrag gearbox. At least one of these survives, a 250cc type OEZ.

The marque vanished in 1949.
