MG Motorcycles (Moto Guerzoni)

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured: 1926-1950 1

Founded in Modena by Vittorio Guerzoni whose first motorcycle was powered by a Train engine, Guerzoni partnered with Vittorio Bellentani to build the Moto Mignon. Later (1932-33) there was an associaton with Enzo Ferrari who commissioned a DOHC 500cc engine, after which they produced the quite famous Taurus, one of the very best Italian motorcycles of the day, by all accounts.

After the Second World War the MG company was acquired by the Bergamini brothers who built motorcycles of 250 and 500cc under the Centaurus brand.

Notes
1. Dates appear incorrect, as there is a Mignon dated 1923 in an Italian article.
