Rovetta Bicycle Engines

A Brief History of the Italian Marque

Giovanni Rovetta of Brescia investigated the possibility, in 1900, of the creation of an automobile during which he made several trips and demonstrations.

In 1902 he built an engine to be applied to the front wheel of a bicycle, and in 1903 built a water-cooled engine with slanted cylinder and belt drive. The engine was applied to the front of the bicycle pedal assembly.
