Suecia Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque
Manufactured in Örkelljunga 1927-1939

Suecia was a reincarnation of the Eiber company, and built motorcycles using engines sourced from Blackburne, JAP and MAG. It would appear that their designs were influenced by Sarolea.

Models include a 1930 model with a 350cc OHV MAG engine and dual exhaust ports, a 1937 Super Sport 500 with a 490cc OHV JAP engine and 4 speed Burman gearbox, and a similar 1936 model using a 500cc SV JAP and Sturmey-Archer 3 speed gearbox.

A speedway machine was built in 1933, the 490cc SMT-50. There was also a 250cc motorcycle offered, believed to be a rebadged Sparta.

They ceased production shortly after the beginning of WWII.

Suecia
Hi,
I'm looking for information on a rare 1930 Suecia 500 Super Sport Dirt-Track racer i recently bought. I have been told that i might be the bike that Rudolf Jönsson raced in the 1930s Dirt-Track and TT races for the Suecia factory, Sueciaverken.

  • "In 1930 Ake [Jönsson] became contracted to the firm of the Swedish "Suecia-verken", a local company based in Örkelljunga in southern Sweden. Ake raced the 350cc machine while his older brother Rudolf raced Suecia's 500cc bike. In 25 events Ake won seven and came second in as many competitions." ~ husqvarna-motorcycles.com
