Hawker 1921 292cc Two-stroke Engine

Hawker-1921-292cc-Twostroke-03.jpg
Section of the crank case and sump of the Hawker two-stroke engine. Pressure is maintained in the sump by crank case compression acting through a non-Teturn valve in the base chamber. The crank- shaft main bearings, of exceptional size, are lubricated by the oil en route from the sump to the big end.
