1902 Motosacoche Sparkbrook

Motosacoche-1902-1-L-Side-NZM.jpg
This original 1902 Motosacoche mounted in a Sparkbrook bicycle frame is unrestored although a few components that were once missing have been accurately reproduced. The 147cc engine has an atmospheric inlet valve and a mechanical exhaust with a cable-operated lifter. The band rear and stirrup front brakes are cable operated from the handlebar. It has a Pioneer Certificate authenticating its age and engine capacity, and had been registered for road use in the UK and regularly ridden by its previous owner from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. His last outing on it was in the Banbury Run competitive time trial in 2004. It was purchased for the NZ Classic Motorcycles collection via an auction in Staffordshire in April, 2009.
