Dasse
Manufactured by Gérard Dasse in rue de Dison, Verviers, later at 59-61 rue David.
Dasse (b. 1842, Hodimont) and his sons Armand (b. 1875) and Iwan (b. 1880) built their first tricar (thought to be similar to the Benz) in 1894 and this was driven from Verviers to Pepinster some 6km each way, a notable feat in the day. Their first production machine was derived in concept from that of Léon Bollée and was sold in 1898.
Around 1899 Dasse designed an electric ignition system, with a distributor, coil and battery. This system was patented by Dasse and later sold to German manufacturers, and may have evolved into the Delco marque.
The firm went on to produce commercial vehicles and automobiles until the financial crash of the early 1930s.
