Daventry Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured 1951-1956

Made by Jules Delmotte, Motos Daventry, Bruxelles used Sachs, Ydral and JLO engines.

Originally a bicycle manufacturer, the firm imported Sachs engines before producing their first machine, a 98cc Sachs-powered motorcycle. This was followed, in 1952, by 150cc and 175cc Sachs machines, 49cc JLO mopeds and 250cc twins (with Earles forks), and other machines with Ydral and Puch engines. They also built two scooters.

I live in Daventry U.K. and would like any information about a Belgian motorcycle of this name! The Hesketh was made in Daventry for a while, and a bike called the Neall I believe in the 1920's. I can read some French - any help would be appreciated! Alan J.
