Austen Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

Austen of Lewisham, London produced motorcycles from 1903 to 1905.

Their machine was very primitive and powered by a 2.25hp Kelecom engine that was mounted vertically in a loop frame. It had extra top tubes and an added upper chain-stay. Most examples were belt-driven but there was an option with chain and belt via a counter-shaft.
