J. F. Bentley

Bentley motorcycles were produced from 1904 to 1905.

The firm of J. F. Bentley was based in New Bridge Street, London. It was not connected with W.O. Bentley.

Late in 1904, a forecar, constructed as a tradesman's vehicle, was displayed at the Stanley show. It was powered by a 3½ hp Fafnir engine but proved to be far too flimsy for the cobblestones and rough terrain of that era.

J. F. Bentley, New Bridge Street, E.C. (Stand 205).–A two-seated runabout or tradesman's sample cart is fitted with Fafnir 3½ h.p. engine. Some of the parts are very lightly constructed, and it is impossible that the machine would be quite up to the ordinary knockabout use which a tradesman would want to give it.
