A Brief History of the Marque
Almora Motor & Fahrzeug AG, Kassel
Almora was owned by Königsberger Motorenfabrik Julius Löwy KG, Königsberg
Built in Germany between 1924 and 1925, the firm offered a range of motorcycles which included single speed lightweights and heavy sidecar models with 6 or 9 hp and three-speed gearboxes.
Almora attempted to produce a successful version of the engine designed by Löwy, a two-stroke which ran on crude oil after starting on petrol. It appears that there were two or three versions built, from 113cc to 176cc, but the power output was far too low and the venture failed. Another marque which used a similar design and the same engine was Albertus. The engine was also fitted to Bafag, Deloma, Fama and Leifa models.
