A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured by Renner & Poppe GmbH, Dresden, from 1924 to 1932.

The firm built motorcycles using JAP SV engines of up to 996cc, and Barr & Stroud 350cc and 500cc powerplants with 3 speed gearbox and kickstarter. They may also have used Kühne and Küchen engines.

550 ccm, 4 stroke, JAP, 3 speed, chain drive 1325. - M
680 ccm, 4 stroke, JAP, 3 speed, chain drive, 2 cylinders 1650. - M
1000 ccm, 4 stroke, JAP, 3 speed, chain drive, 2 cylinders 1850. - M

    79 Barr and Stroud single sleeve valve engines were shipped to Dresden in 1923-24. They were shipped to a company "RF Reggel", who were probably freight handlers only. ~ John Ferguson, FB.

Carl Ostner worked with the company before joining his brother Willy at OD around 1927.
