The G. Guaraldi company of Lodi was one of the first to develop sidecars for motorcycles which were equipped with a handle attached by a chain to the sidecar wheel enabling the passenger to assist with ascents.
The engines employed were from Fafnir, and later Sarolea engines of up to 550cc were used.
