Merlini 1951
Officina Meccanica Fratelli Merlini was established in Casalpusterlengo near Lodi, Milano, in 1951 by brothers Giuseppe and Pietro Merlini, originally from Brescia. They built 50cc ciclomotore machines capable of up to 60 km/h.

Merlini 1981-1985
Racing machines built by Angelo Merlini powered by Rotax 250 engines were produced from 1981 to 1984. Riders were Luigi Pozza and Andrea Borgonovo. The Merlini won the 1985 Italian Championship in the Junior class.
In 1986 Merlini moved to the Garelli racing department and then in 1989 he joined the Cagiva racing team.
