Also referred to as Anker-Laura, these engines were manufactured by B.V. Eygelshoven in Limburg and were fitted to Batavus, Cazenave, Tomos, Solex and others. Anker was part of a large group of Dutch companies which had bought the Berini concern when it failed in 1964, and was restructured for the manufacture of stationary engines, outboard motors and moped engines - Clinton–Laura, Boatmaster–Laura and Anker–Laura.

The factory was sold to Daelim in South Korea, probably in the early 1970s. Daelim built mainly M56 engines before creating their own designs. Daelim M56 engines are identical to the Laura, and all parts are interchangeable.
