The Hunwick Hallam X1R on debut at the 1997 round of the WSBK at Phillip Island. This was the 1000cc Superbike version of the concept. 1100/1350cc street models were planned. In development form the 1000cc made 170hp at the rear wheel, and while conventional valve springs were fitted, the motors were designed to use variable pressure pneumatic valve actuation. Unfortunately the project did not proceed, despite race testing in the following years.
