De Dion c.1904, Alec Tyler
A De Dion motor car with passengers who are identified as Lady Davenport, Major and Mrs. Brewster, Miss Stephenson and driver Jack Tyler with a dog on his lap. Jack Tyler (John William Tyler) was a car importer born in the United Kingdom. His son had the Sphinx Motor Company in Adelaide. By 1900 De Dion Bouton was the largest vehicle manufacturer in the world producing 400 cars and 3,200 engines that year.
