Ejnar Smeds of Vaasa built the first coal gas motorcycle in Finland whilst working for Haldin & Rose which was making Swedish Svedlund wood and coal gas generators for automobiles. The first motorcycle was based on an FN M70, and this was followed by similar applications for Zundapp and Triumph. His relatives have preserved the fourth and last machine he created.
