A Brief History of the Marque
Manufactured from 1955 or earlier by Gitane Micmo Cycles et Motorcycles SA., Rue de la Gare, Machecoul, Lore-Atlantique.
MICMO was the manufacturer of Gitane mopeds and motorcycles. Some sources report that prior to adopting the name Gitane, their motorcycles were branded MICMO and were powered by Ydral 125cc engines. However, evidence of a motorcycle branded Micmo has proved elusive, and certainly 1955 models had Gitane on the tank badge.
