Socol Motorcycles

Established in 1908 at in Rue Parmentier, Saint-Étienne, Société Anonyme des Constructions Mecaniques de la Loire built motorcycles using single-port and twin-port two-stroke engines c1952-1959.

At some stage Automoto obtained the rights to the name and produced motorcycles under the "Socol" marque from 1957-1959. These were named Type SCL (and possibly MSCL) and were powered by 125cc/175cc Aubier & Dunne two-stroke engines - they were in most respects identical to the Automoto.

SoCol / automoto motorcycle
Hi there, ive found your email off of Sheldons emu about french motorcycles, I recently picked up a motorcycle under the name SoCol that was made in 1955 and has an aubier and dunne 125cc 2 stroke engine i believe. However I can't find any more information about it on line and would love to know more about what ive bought and a good place to get parts. Hopefully you can help me.
Many thanks, Jason Field.

The right side toolbox appears to have "125 SCL" on it, which may indicate the machine was built by Automoto.
