Tauma Bicycle Engines

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured by Officine Meccaniche Benesi, 1949-1953

A small company which built only auxiliary bicycle engines. The 49cc two-stroke had a vertical cylinder mounted and was mounted above the front wheel, with transmission via a roller located in front of the engine, with the drive to the roller delivered by an enclosed V-belt.

The Tauma engine is believed to have been supplied to Corrado Corradi around 1944. These machines were later named Itom.
