A Replica of the Seeley G50, the Typhoon features a Seeley MKII frame mounting a Beale Matchless G50 engine with primary drive to the 5 speed gearbox (based on the BSA Gold Star) by belt. It has Ceriani forks, Fontana-style front brake and a conical rear hub. Built in roadgoing trim, it was fitted with with lights and Smiths instrumentation.
The Typhoon was hailed as the ultimate cafe racer, and that would have to be very close to the truth.
Steve Tonkin has an enormous amount of experience with British racing machines, and has raced in many IOM TT events, winning the Junior in 1981.
