Velta Scooters

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured: 1939-40

The engineer Vittorio Belmondo built a scooter equipped with a 98cc Sachs engine which, although only a few were made, exerted a significant influence on the design of the Italian scooter. In appearance somewhat similar to the Vespa Paperino, it was a development of an earlier scooter Belmondo had produced named the Simat.

An example of the Velta is in the collection of the Piaggio Museum.
