While the first production Laverda big twin was the 650 very few were made before it was replaced by the 750. Imports started in 1968 to the US under the 'American Eagle' name by John McCormack. Only 150 or so were imported before the venture failed in 1970, after which the bikes were exported under Laverda's own name. Both GT and Sport models were made. The bike photographed here is fitted with genuine factory accessories including crashbars (with mirrors), tank rack and rear rack. Photographed in Melbourne, Victoria in 2011.
