Bimota-YB9-SRi-Prototype-004.jpg
Bimota's first Yamaha 600cc powered model - the YB9 Bellaria, was introduced in 1990. In 1994 the sleeker SR model replaced it. In 1996 the fuel injected Yamaha Thundercat motor was used in the SRI model. The bike photographed here is a development prototype for the SRI and is fitted with a tank mounted on-board computer that enabled quick adjustments to the bike's electronics. In production tune the SRI made 106hp at 12,500rpm. Dry weight 175kg. Top speed of 240kph. Photographed at Eastern Creek, NSW. 1996.
