Aermacchi Motorcycles

Macchi MB1 Motocarro

Production of the Macchi three-wheeled commercial carrier began in 1945. It was Aermacchi's first vehicle and was constructed using many parts from its aircraft factory. Designed by Ermanno Bazzocchi, the vehicles were sold by Bremach, who in 1971 purchased the manufacturing rights. The front end was of particular interest, derived as it was from the landing gear of a WWII aircraft. The engine was a horizontally opposed four-stroke twin of 750cc, delivering 25 hp running on petrol, and in 1955 this was changed to a 1000cc diesel engine.
