A Brief History of the Marque

Established 1909 in Nantes as a bicycle company.
21 Chausee de la Madeleine Nantes.

Cyclomoteurs of the 50s include:

    Type N° 1 B, ABG VAP two-stroke 49.9cc
    Type N° 549 VAP 55
    Type N° 550 Junior Le Poulain 49.9cc
    Type N° 553 Vap 55/3
    In the 1950s they also built the rather attractive Isoflex lightweights, and sold Sterva scooters under the Stella marque.

1960s: Poketmo miniature motorised bicycle, 2-speed Sachs Saxonette 1.3cv engine, weight 27kg.
Other models include a Minimoped with a 49cc Lifan four-stroke and electric start, and the 1980 Pachito 50cc.

Stella bicycles were acclaimed, and Louison Bobet won Le Tour on a Stella in 1953.

There were several other Stella motorcycles including a German machine built in the late 1950s, an Italian Stella by Max Turkenheimer, another built in Treviso, and an American Stella.
